NHS 24 is committed to involving the public in any service development to ensure that we provide a high standard of care.  There are different ways you can get involved and help us achieve the best standards of care.

We aim to give people living in Scotland the chance to become involved in making decisions about our services. It is our legal obligation to get people involved, therefore, we have appointed a Patient Focus and Public Involvement Co-ordinator.

Patient Focus is about involving you in discussions and decisions when you are a patient.

Ideally a partnership happens between you and the NHS 24.  We try to treat you as an individual and involve you in all stages of your care.

Public Involvement is about involving patients, carers and members of the public in how we plan and deliver services and develop policies and strategies. It also means working with our partners in local authorities, the voluntary sector and other community services.

Patient Focus and Public Involvement (PFPI) is about making a difference. Sometimes a small change to the health service makes a big difference to a patient or carer's experience.
