How do I know if I have seasonal flu and not just a cold/what are the symptoms?

Patients with seasonal flu typically have a fever or a high temperature (over 38.5°C / 101.3°F) and two or more of the following symptoms:

• Joint pain or generalised muscle aches
• Headache
• Cough
• Blocked or runny Nose
• Sore throat
• Vomiting
• Watery diarrhoea
• Can not stop crying (children only)
